Your needs determine our approach.
Prior to developing and delivering a program, some form of training needs analysis is essential to determine the required learning outcomes. We undertake a workplace analysis to identify the desired learning outcomes and ensure that the program selected is appropriate for the organisation and individual. This includes:
• Current skills
• Required skills
• Preferred delivery method
• Individuals job roles
The following pre course assessment is performed by Odyssey Training in conjunction with our clients:
Identifying group outcomes.
This is completed in consultation with the relevant manager to identify the desired learning outcomes and ensure the program is appropriate for the group. Learning outcomes are a key part of the program design and will be used to measure the performance of participants against the relevant units of competency. We encourage our clients to provide any ‘real life’ work examples that can be used in the program to help participants relate to the subject.
Understanding individual goals.
Prior to attending, participants are asked to complete a Pre Course Questionnaire that enables our facilitators to determine their specific needs. Delivery style, case studies and group work will be tailored to fit the individual and will ensure that skills levels are correctly met.
Developing your program.
Our clients have access to an extensive selection of pre-designed courses that can be developed to suit their objectives. Your needs analysis will provide our team with the information necessary to tailor these programs for your industry group culture. Where programs are custom designed or developed, our team will undertake the following:
Select content.
Our qualified team will work in consultation with your staff to determine content and develop a course outline. This will encompass the knowledge, skills and attitude learners need to acquire in order to meet the learning outcomes.
Decide on media and delivery.
Once content has been identified, the media and delivery of content will be defined. The selection of specific techniques and methods will be reviewed so that individual requirements, environmental characteristics,
on-the-job tasks and specific skill gaps can be addressed.
Sequence outcomes.
Once content, delivery methods and media have been selected, our team will sequence the delivery to ensure that learners are stepped through the program in a considered manner. We ensure that you’re prepared.

Training support materials.
Our materials and resources support the learner to achieve their personal goals and group outcomes. As part of our solution, we provide:

Training manuals.
Our training manuals are written and prepared by leading industry professionals and include course content, exercises and useful tools and techniques on the topics covered. Our manuals are a point of reference for participants, enabling them to continually evaluate their success and implement the skills learnt back into the workplace. Odyssey Training continually evaluate the manuals to ensure that they are useful, relevant and engaging.
Facilities and equipment.
All Odyssey Training venues contain state of the art equipment and facilities, including but not limited to, desktop computers, laptops, white board and markers, data projectors and appropriate AV facilities. The training rooms are designed to be conducive to a productive learning environment, with ample room provided for break out sessions and group work. A common room is also available for networking, casual discussion and relaxed reading during breaks. Refreshments are available throughout the day.
We’re listening.
Post training program, we obtain direct feedback from the participants and facilitator to evaluate the success of the program. Copies of this feedback are available to your nominated representative at the conclusion of the program. This feedback is conducted to ensure that:
• Individual and group expectations were met
• Training delivery was of a high standard
• Skills learnt are incorporated back into the workplace
• Opportunities for improvement are identified
