Development of Learning Pathway - Negotiation & Difficult Behaviour Conflict
Background
With a team of more than 200 specialists, our client is a multi-faceted national business whose breadth of service required a unique approach to training. The organisation wanted to upskill staff in a number of areas with the following learning outcomes required:
- Communication fundamentals with a focus on business relationships and customer service
- Negotiation techniques and assertive behavioural development
- Support and build on negotiation skills set with techniques for dealing and coping with difficult behaviours and conflict
- An overview of industry regulatory impacts and the essentials of governance and records management particular to their organisation
What we did?
Odyssey was engaged to design, develop, deliver and administer a series of one day training modules via our Learning Pathway program. The program involved:
- Consulting with a broad range of stakeholders to determine the required outcome
- Identified the most effective method of program delivery, selecting a two day staggered approach that provided staff the time to put into practice some principles learnt between sessions
- Developing the content for four customised one day training modules via Learning Pathways
- Consulting with Representatives to adjust content and incorporate business specific case studies and scenarios
- Delivering the program to 40 Land Access Consultants over a three month period delivered on-site in Chinchilla
- Evaluation of the training program using Kirkpatrick model (Level 1, 2 and 3)
- Administering the program on behalf of the client including administration of all paperwork, coordination of training logistics
- Regularly reporting feedback to Stakeholders for each group that were captured during the program
- End of project report and presentation of recommendation to senior management
From the recommendations, our client have engaged Odyssey Training to run the program as part of their Land Access Consultants.

Microsoft Windows 7 Upgrade & Online tutorials
Background
We have been delivering training to our client since 1997 and we have been involved in their SOE upgrade to Office 2007 and more recently upgrading of their SOE to Windows 7. They required a blended solution for 1200 staff of both face-to-face training as well as development of online training tutorials as some staff are located remotely.
What we did?
Odyssey was engaged to develop and deliver training for their Windows 7 / SOE Upgrade. Our services for this project included:
- Meeting with relevant IT stakeholders to determine content and transfer of knowledge required
- Development of PowerPoint presentation for use during the information sessions.
- Development of Cheat Sheets for Windows 7 specific to client’s SOE
- Development of Online training tutorials to be placed on the clients Intranet site for remote delivery via Web.
- Delivery of 1 hour training sessions to end users who have migrated to new SOE
- Assist IT Service desk to respond to Windows 7 phone calls, email enquiries to the service desk and assist with “how to” questions as required
