Success story: supporting business growth through Microsoft Excel and Project Management training

Manufacturing and Industrial Services

Client

A highly successful US-based international food manufacturing organisation that recently launched its Australian operations.

Overview

After enrolling numerous staff members on public courses, our client’s People and Culture Officer was impressed by the quality of our trainers and support approach, and worked with us to deliver various on-site programs including Microsoft Excel and Project Management training.

Solution

Microsoft Excel Training

The initial on-site program included delivery of Microsoft Excel training to staff from various departments including Sales, Marketing, Finance, and Procurement and Planning. The client uses Excel for all their financial forecasting and planning and required the flexibility to assess individual employees’ skill levels and run targeted in-house courses that would directly meet their needs. An on-site Excel training schedule was developed, based on a needs analysis, which consisted of five sessions:

Project Management Training

Following the success of the Excel training rollout, our client also approached us to run a Project Management Fundamentals course, tailored to focus on specific topics, for their Melbourne-based leadership team. We worked with their in-house HR team to provide a tailored one day course, including a pre-course meeting to assess the learning objectives with their facilitator and post-course debrief and report on participant evaluations.

Outcomes and Evaluation

Our client has achieved their learning objectives and provided excellent feedback on our team’s facilitation style and approach. As a result, we continue to support their in-house HR team, including training delivery via our public schedule on Effective People and Communication Skills as well as further Microsoft Excel and Project Management courses.
